It is a game about multiple resource management. Creating supply chains and exploring all new worlds, searching for perfect world to colonize, best resource sources, caslon and hydrogen gas gigants that will fuel Your state and private sector. It is a game in which You can carefully design Your ships and every aspect of ships design really matters. Only the total mass and cash are a limit here. Not to mention all resources, because each ship is build from different number of systems and each system block is build from defined amount of resources. The price of resources is strictly connected to final price of ship and its maintenance costs. There are no artificial fleet limits. Each ship costs and it has maintenance costs. If You build too much and go negative on money, no one will disband Your fleets or troops. It will only mean that You wont be able to build new ones until cash will go positive again. It is a game when attrition of fleets is a real thing - not artificial modifier. In peace, You only need to keep them refuel. But when in fight, weapons and shields starting to use energy, ships burning fuel faster Your ships systems gets destroyed, ships loosing engines, armour, weapons etc. Some of them get destroyed. Suddenly Your fleets are less and less effective. At some point You just need to stop, refuel, repair and regroup, because You are commanding a mess group of wounded ships and not organized fleet. And You need to have multiple fleets, because it is not possible to defend whole empire space with one major fleet. Enemies attack everywhere they can. It is a first game You seek for truce or peace, because You need to sort fleets and reorganize. There are planet invasions and ground combat with little control over but satisfying in my opinion. It is a game of making plans and reacting to changes. Worth it's price and Your time.
