I tried so much to like this game. Good ideas, terrible execution: - bugs everywhere, some even quest-breaking. I had to reload more than once because some trigger did not activate upon completion of a required action (damn pressure plates); - poorly optimized, runs horribly though looking like a game from the early 2000's; - horribly unbalanced difficulty, even with the easiest setting. Difficulty varies from incredibly easy to impossible bosses like the damned green dragon, which made me definitely quit and uninstall this painful waste of time of a game. - the game makes use of the same tiring mechanics, over and over, apparently to annoy and punish you: in particular, thera are lots of areas in which you cannot rest and recover, so you are costantly on the edge and cannot enjoy a good fight because you never know if you should save that good spell for later, Clearly, like many indie games, this one suffers from poor playtesting and overall quality control. The end result is similar to a dnd session in which an evil dm plays against the players, very similar to the infamous "Pathfinder: kingmaker". If you like to suffer, this game is for you.
A passable game, until the mission of the race in gastownt. It is frustratingly difficult, which is a surprising game design decision since up until that point the game is quite easy. I tried at least a dozen time, with different car configurations, then I gave up. Uninstalled the game and deleted forever. Avoid this game and save your precious time for more funny experiences.
I do not own the game myself, but tried to fix the issue for a friend. I work as a software developer (not on videogames thanks god), so I said, "well son, let me solve it for".... Well, I solved nothing. Tried everything, no way. After the game load screen, the game displays a black screen. If you press esc however the game will work fine. But the moment the game needs to play a video, again there's the black screen. Instead, the game works just fine on my shitty laptop, only difference it has a windows 10 pro installed. I observed the same pattern also with the game Mechanicus. I think it has something to do with that crappy unity framework using windows media player, which is not provided in the N windows versions. I strongly advice to stay away from games made with unity.
I have been playing for hours and only get random missions. I am 30 days into cia campaign and no story mission is generated. I have analysed clues, solved dossiers, etc... nothing happens. The objective in the upper left corner states "examine the aguirre dossier". When I go to the dossier, it is completed; I click on it, nothing happens. I have read somewhere that there should be an evacuation mission from Beirut at some point in the chapter; so, maybe the problem is that I have already moved the base to another location? If that is so, it adds insult to injury. What a complete waste of time.
45 minutes through a tough mission... I won the day, but the game crashed right on the debriefing screen. One would think that this kind of games automatically save every end of turn, but apparently this is not the case. I feel like going back to 1997.
Being a backer from the kickstarter, I am very sad to write this. There is great potential is this game, but what good is it when you have to replay large chunks of the game because suddenly it cannot load saved games? It could have been game of the year, had it been developed by professional programmers and properly tested before launch. So far, it is only a chore to play. A poor beta with big optimization issues. I don't think I will ever have the nerve to play it through the end.
