I just bought the game on 90% discount. I played the arcade but this is a lazy conversion. It is made in Unity which is not usually a warning but here all weak points are coming to live: endless loading times, desynchronized events, crashes back to desktop and inconsistent application states. On first start the introduction was not shown, only a black screen. Starting the game it crashed, starting it again I was able to complete the first level but then it crashed again. In the game when the enemies are jumping into the screen, they are invulnerable, so you may waste already bullets they got only vulnerable when they move to attack you. I will try again, otherwise this is my first refund ..
This was a nice game. The game episodes were slightly too short except the 4th one which was slightly too long / difficult for me. The Car racer was the most generic one and could have been slightly more fleshed out. But the whole presentation, especially the music, was very pleasant. It just would have been nice to have slightly more levels in these games.. But I bought it on a sale and was satisfied with this small episodic gameplay which actually fit very good to my current game pattern (not so much time to grind hour for hour in computergames)
The game is very short, and this is a good thing, as it gets very repetitive: - level starts with sprinting / jumping / grappling hook - arena with tons of monsters spawnig at you - video sequence - start over The graphics are nice but nothing unseen. The weapons are not super defined and the katana was better implemented in the first two games. The story is a total laughable skeleton of a story without any big twists or revelations. I bought the game on a sale and you shouldn't buy it for the full price as it is not worth it.
I enjoyed the game very much.. the game mechanics are rock solid and so fun to play. The story is sweet as the game. Ideal to play with kids. It is not too long (I needed approx 9 hrs, but I am usually quite slow). The riddles are clear and easy enough to get them done in one to two tries. A must buy!
This game is an astonishing masterpiece. You can feel every ounce of love and gorgeous craftmanship which went into this title. This game feels _complete_ If you like the movies from Hayao Miyazaki, this game should be an instant buy. The Soundtrack is spot-on, the graphics lovely and the oerall design finetuned and great. The only thing which is slightly sad, is that the game is quite short. But it is not too short, you just wished to have more to explore, be longer in the experience of magic, wonder and cuteness..
I read the novels and was really looking forward to play it, but I cannot bring myself to play it any minute longer. As somebody in the forum said: "It is not my cup of tea": For me nothing is really fitting: 1.) The game would look beautiful, if it is not playing most of the time in dire metrostations. 2.) You can upgrade your weapons, but I cannot see any big effect: monsters coming from all sites running at you and you empty whole clips into them and then they kill you while you reload. Ammunition is a rare item and basically every shoot should hit (still does not kill the beast) 3.) You should roam the world (also in Moscow itself) to find more upgrades & ammunition, but sometimes you need to use a gasmask and then the time is severely limited. Combined with only auto-save you are not allowed to experiment. I tried now several times to get back to the game, get another level behind me. But even if you succeed another Level, you just see another Metro station. I give up now. One of the rare games I just deinstall and try to forget. For me it seems the developer wanted to make the game hard, really hard, but the same time they forget to give any motivation or guidance to the player(what powerup is how effective? when is my gasmask empty`? what is my health status?) I read in the forum that the oerall game does not get better later so I decided to stop now (going to the surface in Moscow first time)
The whole atmosphere of Trine is wonderful. While Trine 3 was a kind of bomb (I still liked it somewhat), we are now back to 2.5D. Puzzles are easier, but still a lot of content to play through. The puzzles are slightly modified if you play co-op game, so you can basically play the game a second time if you find somebody. Overall it is quite a nice successor, with somewhat more improved gameplay mechanics and streamlined (and easier) puzzles. And last but not least: It is a great game to play with kids!
First of all, this game is NOT a shooter! therefore if you want a shooter, do not buy this game. It is more a cluedo type of game. It is really small (only 1 environment). The download size let you expect a full fledged AAA title, but the reason for the huge download(and installation footprint!) is that they stored all of their sounds in wav. Yes you heard right: the sound is uncompressed and is more than half of the size of the game. Even in times of Terabyte harddisks, I find this just stupid. You could store all sounds on a 10th without loosing any quality! That means the whole game would be 2GB. Another point are the bugs. There are a lot of scripting bugs, where the script collides with your actions and you need to reload. I was a little bit disappointed, but for a summersale it was OK. if I payed 20$ I would give it a 1 star only.
