Clive Barker's Undying

Poorly paced and boring

It starts off really interesting right up until about 20 minutes in when it just drops the horror setting for infinitely spawning eldritch-looking enemies and a dragon head weapon with infinite ammo that out-classes your first two weapons in every way. Once you leave the mansion the game becomes painfully bland and loses the last bit of what made it so interesting at the start. I just can't really say much more about this game unfortunately. It's just boring and incoherently strange in ways that clash with one another. There were many other games out at this time that were significantly better and I have to say that this might be one of the worst I've played from this era. I think it's also worth mentioning that I had to mess around a lot with renderers because I had an issue where it would either run 3x faster than normal or would crash in a beginning cutscene. If you have any of those issues then it might be worth looking into a widescreen patch somebody made that fixed some related issues. I had to run with Software as my renderer which caused some graphical bugs but it was the only way to get it running normally and without crashing. I have seen several people with the issue and several without it, so the problem may not apply to you. Hopefully not!
