To be honest, I was reluctant to purchase this game after reading so many negative reviews, but eventually I can say that it's worth its money. The two-dimensional redesign of the old Monkey Island landscapes gave me a sweet feeling of nostalgia. It was actually like playing Monkey Island 1 with advanced graphics and enhanced gameplay. The graphics, although cartoony, are nicely designed and create a quite powerful pirate ambience. But the best feature of the game is its speed, as the character moves smoothly and fast, even through distant locations. No long cutscenes or boring dialogs, even Stan speaks less! Therefore the story unfolds quickly, which could give a false impression that the game is short. Furthermore, the game indicates which items are combinable, so you don't waste time and energy trying to combine all the items together. However, the game is not so easy as described by some users. As in every Monkey Island game, the puzzles are not too difficult, though clever and challenging. Besides, who wants to play an adventure game that is impossible to finish? And yes, the game provides solutions to the puzzles, but not without the player's request, which makes no difference than consulting a walkthrough. So, I strongly recommend you to purchase this game and spend a few hours with our old pal Guybrush. You won't regret it!
