Was not expecting the game to be as good as it is. Lot's of things to do (crafting tools, base building, exploring, managing colonies, buying low, selling high, tricking out your personal star vessel, etc.) and the game is good at giving you the autonomy to choose.
A classic from top to bottom. Does not have all the bells and whistles of modern equivalents, but it is fun and holds up remarkably well despite its age.
Is really nailing the whole "play just a bit longer" appeal of the crafting genre. The science fiction setting is simple but immersive and effective.
This game definitely scratched the itch for some old school four X space strategy. MOO2 is one of my all time favourite games and the developers of this game understand much of what made that game so good. The DLCs for this game are very affordable as well.
