Vampire: The Masquerade® - Bloodlines™ 2

Could have been amazing

If the dev team had been given enough time, this game could have been amazing. By playing you can just tell that they had great ambitions but alas something or someone caused them to finish only finish that which was necesary to have something that could be called a release. I hope they will release DLCs to give this game the treatment it deserves.

Chained Echoes

I don't think this game is that special

I don't understand how this game for the great receptions it has gotten. I really don't. The story is pretty milktoast, not logically consistent and quite boring. The game-mechanics are average and the quests, apart from the main quest are pretty simple. The characters are average and very similar to characters you'd find in any other game of the genre. The pixel grapics are nice though.

Cyberpunk 2077

Good but not great.

This game will disapoint you without being disappointing. What I mean by that is that this game has great graphics, a decent story, a vast world and even Keanu Reeves and yet it falls painfully short of what the Witcher 3 was. The Witcher 3 has a great ever evolving story which you could experience from two angles, Geralt and Ciri. This made the game very enjoyable as you could see constant development from many angles, nothing would stay static, everything was in motion and you had to pay close attention to not miss anything. In Cyberpunk you have two Characters which experience the same story... and I feel like it doesn't add much to it. The entire storytelling is outdated. In Cyberpunk, you can break into the office of the leader of a giant corporation, witness a huge event, steal his stuff, kidnap his sister and bugger off without the fella doing anything to find you. I am currently stuck due to a bug in the final mission of the game and at this point I don't even know if I want to put the effort in to finish it. I don't understand how this could have happened. This game had more than twice the development time of the Witcher 3 and yet it feels like the Witcher 3 is sequel to this game in terms of design.

Firewatch

A Series of Boring Events.

Intrigue is built and then crushed. The story in this game is so promising, but it ultimately fails. I don't want to give anything away (which means I can't say much as the game is < three hours long); however, I will say you are presented with many events which could lead to any numerous, sinister outcomes. The problem is the game developers chose to go with the most mundane plot line each time. Voice acting and visuals are great, but that's all you will remember about this game/event after you are done with it. In the end, the game will leave you wishing there was more fire and less watching.

No Man's Sky

currently unplayable

Disclaimer: I was really hyped about this game and couldn't await the release. Unfortunately the PC port is currently unplayable on my machine(I7-6900K,32GB RAM,GTX1080 SLI, SSD) due to poor performance. I am sure they will improve on this but if I hadn't bought this game yet I would recommend my alter-self to hold off on the purchase until they fixed the most pertinent problems with this port. Pros: Beautiful Game Nice Soundtrack(at least the few minutes I tried to play it) Cons: Not optimized Bugs(especially graphical ones) I personally will leave this game alone until they have had some time to address the technical issues.
