This might be an older game by now, but I only got around to playing it recently — and I’m really glad I did. I highly recommend it. One warning: there are some disturbing and horrific themes in the game, so if you’re squeamish, be aware. I find it a plus since this is a horror themed game. It’s a horror point-and-click adventure, which is a genre you don’t see much of anymore. While it shows its age in some areas, it still holds up really well. There are a few missing quality-of-life features, though that’s understandable given the game’s release date. For example, there’s no item highlight system, so you’ll need to do a bit of pixel hunting. Still, it never felt excessive — interactive objects are clearly marked with a hand icon, while items meant for world-building use an eye icon, so you quickly learn to tell the difference. The story is excellent, and the puzzles are smartly designed. I never felt overwhelmed or stuck for too long. There is one puzzle that’s a bit trickier than the rest, but it’s completely fair if you pay attention to the details in the environment. The main characters are fully voiced, but most of the world-building comes from reading PDAs and notes. If you’re not into reading in games, that might be a downside — but I found the amount of text perfectly balanced, and it added a lot to the atmosphere. Overall, it’s a well-crafted experience that blends story, puzzles, and horror in a satisfying way. Even in 2025, it’s absolutely worth your time.
