too much RNG poisons exploration

At its current state (6/3/2018), there is way too much RNG. The intro part of the game encourages exploration and taking risks, but the amount of RNG that it currently has severely poisons exploration if not outright kills it. You can do the same thing multiple times in this game and get different results every time, leading to impossible to win conditions when you need contentment to defeat dread but all you get is restlessness and more dread. The only thing that seems consistent is reading certain books to get certain secrets, but then you have to rely on key words in the books descripction. A tutorial would help immensely to get you started on how to upgrade things or deal with annoyances like aldson or whatever his name is at one of the jobs in-game. The hint system isn't that helpful in game either, with highlighting every card that is usable with a task but only one works, or very vague at how to go about things at best. I know exploring every avenue is supposed to help with this but when almost every result is based around random luck, it becomes a grind that is best left undone, unexplored, and untouched. It would also help to have an autopause function whenever a timer is done so you can plan ahead much better. Having consistency between some things like getting contentment as easily as you can get dread, restlessness, notoriety, or fascination would make things a little less stressful. It would also be great to have multiple save slots. In its current state, while I find some enjoyment, it usually gets squashed by the heavy RNG so I cannot reccomend this game. I do so want to fully enjoy and recommend this game but there are other and better roguelikes and card games out there, even ones that combine the two. I highly advise waiting until some quality of life updates happen or just avoiding it all together.
