I loved Ultima 7 when I was a kid, but this second part didn´t age well. My reasons to be unsatisfied with the game: - It´s full of bugs. I recommend you to mod it with fixes and play it mostly with Exult engine. - Some items vanish if you just move them from point A to point B. Load back again. - The management of the keys is bonker. Loose one and you can be literally done. - You could find a rich story across The Black Gate. Here all the people want to screw you and they don´t do anything else but being there awaiting for you to interact with them, with exceptions, - Take notes everytime if you don´t want to use an -usually flawed- online walkthrough. A hint can be useful three or four hours of game later and, of course, it´s more likely that you have already forgotten the details or the whole conversation, because there are no contextual hints that anchor elements or missions to conversations. - Some puzzles make no sense. How to find he gwanies, for example. When you get there, find about what you need to do and you´ll realize that is very difficult to explain that. - The end of the game is solving one random puzzle after the other. They don´t add nothing to the lore, the story, the theme. They are just there to prevent you to get to the end. - There is a very trascendent moment that affects one of your beloved companion and the way everything is done is absolutely absurd. Anticlimatic. - The Silver seed expansion is pointless. What adds to the game? Weapons? Style? Armor? Stories? - The magic system is unnecessary. You literally only need 6 spells. It requires too much effort for that bland flavor. - The last quarter of the game is repetitive and boring. Unbearable. - The ending is also random, incomplete. You feel that the more important characters of events that have been prepared since the beginning of the story -or almost- are not there, won´t be there, and feel like mostly decorative. I am happy of finishing this.
