I love the idea behind this game and setting up a small village is awesome. However it does start to fall apart when you reach a certain population, as miners are to stupid to find new rocks to quarry, loggers will get lost as they head deeper into the woods and so on and so forth. Before you know it your notifications tab is full and your town is in chaos. I've been playing for about 10 hours now and whilst i am getting better, the amount of micromanagement required leaves me thinking I'll never actually finish this game, or build the huge Viking Settlement i crave.
I bought this game thinking it was rise of nations. It isn't it is far, far better. Massive maps from the starting epoch will last for HOURS and are a real challenge even onstandard, as the AI loves making raids and is great at building properly mixed armies. Fight them with nothing but tanks and prepare to be destroyed as they respond with helicopters, battleships with subs and so on. Better than any RTS I've played, including modern games.
