I've been looking for something 4x and different, and this is it. Everything abstracted to the POV of a Galactic Emperor!! Game mechanics are great. Commanding your court, the noble houses, and the military, without needing to micromanage. A mile deep!. All an enjoyable fresh take for me. It's not a pretty game tho. Flat UI and minimal SFX, the music is a bit jarring and the character customisation options are really limited. Best described as functional and kinda retro, very potato friendly.
I'm so sorry Elexis. You were kinda fun in '98 but you're boring now. I remember buying this when it first released, It was okay but more hype than anything else. It's not aged well at all and playing it again in 2021 has ruined the nostalgic memories I had of it. If you're an FPS lover then do yourself a favour and DON'T buy this. Instead, wait for the remake.
Me? I love it! It's slick and stylish, and stabby and shooty and gory and ssssssssssexy! Yeah it's a little glitchy, but it's also the best kind of patchy (1.06 ATM). BONUS: It even plays pretty well on my borderline minimum spec PC, on MEDIUM settings!!!, without any issues. But that's just me... YOUR mileage may vary :-)
