DEADBOLT

Undead Gunpoint without Jumpboots

It plays very similiar to Gunpoint, except instead of Jumpboots and hacking you have more weapons and a few supernatural abilites. Overall a nice polished indie game, although rather challenging at times, great albeit simple artstyle.

My Friend Pedro

Pure, fun, knows where to end

If you wanna relive the glory days of action flash games, but with today's production values, this is one of your best options Yes, the later levels lean more on the puzzle side but there's still enough shooting to make it worth it, my only real issue is with the last "normal" boss battle where the boss uses the same dodge move you have but it isn't really clear when you can actually inflict damage again

Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

Best RPG of the 2000s

While the graphics haven't aged amazingly well, the facial expressions are still good (better than some RPGs that "just work"), the art direction is quite good and the writing is absolutely on-top. What absolutely drags the game down is the combat, but most of the time there are ways to avoid it and when there are not, there are cheats to deal with the cheese. Even despite that, I will absolutely replay the game a couple more times, because the RPG elements are just that good.

Police Stories

Aggressive police tactics

Does exactly what it says it does, wasn't disappointed... But do not expect Hotline Miami SWAT, it only shares the aesthetic and the way the controls feel, the gameplay is slower and more methodical, with randomized enemy layouts making the game less about muscle memory and more about careful tactics... that is until you get shot in the back by a guy who came to check out the noise you make from a room you forgot to check.

Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare

Could have been so much more

What I signed up for was M&B with guns, gopnik and ground-vehicles, what I eventually got was guns, gopnik and glitches-galore. I do not think that the game will evolve much from it's 1.0 release, and as it stand right now it's only good for people who absolutely want their M&B with guns but do not want to bother with excessive modding. The shooting feels meh, the squad building is basic but functional and the world feels less alive than the first M&B...

Noita

Great sandbox with no metaprogression

Prepare to die often, mostly because of your own weapons. The game has so many features that it doesnt tell you about, all it shows you are the controls, the rest is up to you to discover... And there's always more. And the deeper you dig the more likely it is that you will anger some ancient deity in the process. By far the best 2D action game with destructible environments since Cortex Command, with nothing quite like it.

Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition

Great game, technical flaws

The game itself is amazing, a really fun zombie-smashing sandbox, combining Mirror's Edge-style parkour with Dead Island-style zombie slaying and a fun world to explore... But. - There is no way to manually save your game into a separate save slot, there is only ONE savefile. So prepare to backup your saves regularly, because... - The saves can get corrupted. Not even necessarily during checkpoints, I've lost my 50h savefile when my PC died (lost power) during regular gameplay, and the GOG backup was of no use since apparently after I've booted Galaxy up again it decided to overwrite the working cloud backup with the now broken version. And sometimes, even though the save is fine, the game decides to ignore it and no longer displays the "Continue" button in main menu, meaning you have to go and manually select the savefile when you click on "Play > New game". - GOG version does not receive the same amount of content as the other versions do. There are free DLCs on Steam that are not available here, and the Docket system (redeemable codes for in-game goodies) do not work with this version. - And, as others have stated, no multiplayer possible with people outside of GOG Galaxy (not a flaw but good to know if you plan to play with friends) + Minor gripe, but you cannot switch between the maingame zones and the DLC zone in-game, you have to exit into the main menu and switch there... I still had a lotta fun and I am looking forward to the next one, but if those issues persist then I am not sure if I wanna deal with them again...

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition

Best thing in Bohemia since Charles IV

Take the freedom of Skyrim, combat inspired by Mount & Blade, realism that is often neglected in "AAA games" and proper RPG character growth, combine that with that classic czech sense of humour and you get pretty much this game. Save for the bugs (as of writing this review I've had this game for more than a year, played for 50+ hours on 2 saves and I've yet to finish the game because the very final dialogue just bugged out for me), this is the kind of game that will take it's rightful spot alongside the cult classics of RPGs in a couple years. Just be aware that those pretty graphics do demand pretty specs...

Shadow Warrior 2

Best over-the-top FPS in years

Pros: Very fluid combat (in terms of how easy it is to keep momentum & resources while engaged), which somewhat favours melee over ranged. Movement speed more akin to a certain space ninja looter shooter than your typical FPS. Variety of weapons ensures you will find at least a couple you absolutely love using. Randomly generated levels can often be completed sans combat (although why would you do that?). Very nice graphics with some visceral elements that look great. Subjectively spot-on humour. Cons: If you find the humour bad, you will want to mute the dialogue. Game will randomly stutter on any gaming setup but nothing in the realm of unplayable. Some enemies are way less fun to fight than others (usually the humanoid enemies are the best). Loot is somewhat required to maintain DPS. TL;DR: A solid 9/10 title, but if you don't like the kind of silly humour this game is full of... You might not like the rest nearly as much, so purely gameplay-wise 8/10.
