I've been playing video games for 20 years now. In recent years I figured out that I value those games that trigger emotional responses. Blood and Wine ( and original Witcher 3, for that matter ) is one of those games. I've spent most of my time with this DLC with a smile on my face. Blood and Wine contains a solid 20 hours of gameplay that is filled with lore, fun moments, challenging fights and genuinely good story. Your experience may vary if you haven't read the original books, but still, this is probably the best expansion I've seen in my entire gaming life.
