I’ve played the Witcher 3 on the PS4 and PC and enjoyed both playthroughs. The game is old by now, so I won’t be saying anything that hasn’t been said many times before, but here’s why the game’s a must play: 1. Huge, beautiful open world filled with many quests and varied locations 2. Engaging combat that is fast, but brutal at higher difficulties 3. Great protagonist with a lot of personality 4. Probably the best soundtrack ever, including movies or TV 5. Seriously, I listen to the soundtrack when doing other things because it’s so good Honestly, you got nothing to lose playing this game other than dozens of hours you’ll be playing this game.
First off, the graphics are fine for me, but where the game loses 2 stars are frustrating combat mechanics, odd PC controls, slow story, technical bugs, and a mixed bag of smaller, but mostly ignorable concerns. I’m still fairly early into the game, but was honestly expecting a much better introduction. I judge a game by two major factors: 1. How much I want to play a game when I’m not playing 2. How much I want to continue playing a game when I am playing I voluntarily quit out of Cyberpunk a couple times already to do something else instead. Even now, I don’t feel compelled to play, which is odd seeing as though I was looking forward to this game since it was announced. My expectations were tempered with the multiple delays (never a good sign btw), but currently the game isn’t even living up to my lowered expectations. I’ll update the review as I go along, but right now I would not recommend the game.
