Played Freespace 1 years ago and felt it was a real treat - and bought 1+2 on this site. To my surprise, the graphics still hold up - sure the game doesn't have bump mappng and parallax mapping and all that goodness - but the models are nice and the only time you might feel the graphics lacking is on the big ships where the texture is not so pretty. But besides that - the small ships look ok, the explosions are great, the effects are great - the atmosphere and gameplay is awesome! But if this review put you down on the graphics side - I woyuld still want you to try it out - why? Because the Indie-scene isn't that much better alot of the games graphic wise, but they argue instead for better feeling, atmosphere and so on - if you are an indie game person then you must give this space sim classic, made by a big studio, a chance!
