-I already wrote a review, as had someone before me, but until I wrote this replacement review the page listed 0 reviews. I am dismayed at the removal of reviews. -Basically, I disliked losing and not understanding why. I found the first mission was made into a walk-over by using mortars, and I suspect that an enemy mortar was what destroyed my units in the second mission. I'm not interested in more of that.
-Having never played a Close Combat game before, I cannot be sure if my losing is my own fault or a problem with the game. Either way, I just don't have a reason to keep trying for a while. -I can't seem to get my anti-tank guns to fire, so they just die to firing from an unknown source (was it the tank, or some off-site platform like artillery or an air strike?) Also, while the battles each include a function to have the AI design your force for you (presumably the AI knows what it will use against you better than do you) I haven't seen it do a reasonable job. On the first mission it gave me an anti-tank unit despite the enemy having no tanks, and on the second mission it only gave me one ant-tank unit, despite the enemy being mostly tanks and armored vehicles. -I don't play games to lose without knowing why, nor how to do better. I regret purchasing a game so early in it's release; after all is it not normal for developers to release games effectively unfinished? I have plenty of other games to play, and I will.
