I really like card games, loved the gwent mechanics in the W3. However the game is played a bit differently here, it is more than satisfying. Especially that the actual 3-round combat is scarce and mostly you encounter a fight with some kind of a twist. That is amazing, espeially that the game takes a few hours to finish. Storywise, I love it, I like the main character, the decisions she makes, the cosnequences. Party members are interesting and likeable. Graphics is pretty, I really liked the cell shading type visuals. Do I recommend the game to everybody? Rather not, It's a game for the Witcher fans (a must), card and puzzle games with story. Is it a game for an rgp fan? Rather not - the progression system is awkward and not really satisfying - feels sometimes as if you even don't invest gathered resources , that would not make any difference at all. Still at it's core - as a cad game it is fun to play, as a narative, it is interensting (although sometimes inconsistent), the grafics feels done right and with a lot of heart put into it. The reason for the 4 star rating is in the topic. When you get to this puzzle, you will probably understand.
What I love about this game the most is that until the end I did not fully understand the depth of the combat, what made the potentially repetevie fights unpredictable. I really see it as a plus. Unfortunaltely for some - a moment comes, where your team members become pretty powerfull close to the end of the game. I like the art style of the game that is still pretty and interesting. The storyline and the decision making mechanism was another great element of this 11hrs journey - I had the same amazing experience like with the first Witcher game - after making choices that I found to be the right thing to do, I often found myself getting the bad outcome, including losing good party members and resources. Why did I deduct one star after being optimistic about this game?Had to reinstall it becaus it crashed after the first instal. That is an indie game and it feels - there's not much animations and voiced dialogs. The tactical combat games is my kind of games and not everybody will like how the mechanics play out. I even imagine it being pretty frustrating to many (didn't read the other reviews though). I highly recommend this game to anybody who likes this kinds of games.
I have spent about 9 hrs in the game today and must say that from being pretty entertained, I am starting to be tired of the chore - there is a lot of grind into the game that I did not expect that... still the fights are pretty nice, although there is not too much depth into it. I do not find the humor entertaining and the graphics is only nice (I like pixel art). Bought it on a sale and the price was fair for the game. Do I like the game in overall? Yes. Do I reccommend it? No. Does it even make sense?
I love it and hate it, then love it again and hate it again. This game is brutal. Makes you plan every move, think twice about every decision, regret every mistake... These are the ups. Downs? I don't like the graphics style, but this is subjective. It is very hard to unlock any new ships, you don't gain practically nothing from death after an hour's play - besides the leson you have learnt :). ALthough i do not regret spending time on dyng here, I will not finish the game. not today :)
