The combat gameplay is borderline Naked Gun levels of comedy and jank, most of the line delivery is eye rolling and the story is both boring and very low stakes... But i still think this game would be perfect for a remaster, Obsidian makes fantastic RPGs and this one is no exception your choices and conversations shape the world around you and the characters you will save or kill have real impact on the story.
Amazing game and i thought maybe 10 year old me just loved the game because i thought it was neat but never really went in depth into it. Playing again after all these years it still holds up so well, the combat isnt amazing but the world building and exploration more than make up for it.
Metal Age is the best stealth game out there period. Its a refined from the teams experience working on The Dark Project. The levels are huge and sprawling, if you get caught every enemy on the map doesnt immediatly know your location like so many other games, the missions are varied and interesting, the villain is wierd and his plans are so beyond our comprehension that you want to find out whats going on. This game sets out to give you the best stealth experience and nails it. A Perfect Game
Ive played through this game twice, once in 2003 on my dads computer that barely hit minimum specs for the game and once again in 2021. Its possibly the best RPG made for the PC, the dialogue is interesting and the characters ideals and goals are well layered, the gameplay can feel very dated at times but after gaining experience, leveling up your skills and installing some bio mods its a blast. This game is an absolute gem and if you can see past the aging qualities of an ancient engine and look at the story telling and interactivity in the world and NPCs you will come to realize that in the year 2000 this magnificent game became a well deserved legend. 10/10
