I've just purchased a new copy of NMS for my laptop. Unfortunately, despite i7 core and 16gig of RAM, it doesn't run smoothly and the laptop gets so hot, the W key almost burns my finger. The reason I got this PC version is because my PS5 gets overheated and turns itself off after only about 30mn of gameplay. I'm glad I spent a few thousand hours playing NMS on PS4 during COVID but I'm sad to be unable to play again. So eventhough NMS is one of the best game I've ever played, beware of its demands on hardware. Make sure you have a more than decent PC. As for Playstation, I cannot believe that PS5 cannot run this game properly eventhough PS4 could. It is definitely a hardware problem. My PS5 is clean, located in a ventilated place, the aircondition blows cool air to the front of it and a fan blows that cool air back to it at the back of the machine. Yet, it still overheats and turns itself off. What a cheap machine! Real shame SONY! :-(
