I would play this game, but unlike its predecessors, the controls are broken. Every time I click the mouse on something, the game clicks away from whatever I clicked on, and/or chooses the "Hero". Most of the time I can't add/upgrade towers without clicking it anywhere from 4-40 times, or more. I can't do basically anything except move the Hero around the map. I was able to glitch my way through the first few levels, but it became WAY too difficult to manage. Huge waste of time. I loved and played through ALL of the previous games/DLC. Very disappointed.
The tutorial tells you to build stuff without explaining why or how and sometimes moves the camera around so fast that you get disoriented. They need to explain why you're building certain items, what you use to build them, etc. The auto-moving camera needs to slow WAY down, so you know where it moved you to, relative to where you were. I'm also not sure where the enemies are coming from or why they're attacking you in the first place. Ok start...needs a lot of work.
This is an incredibly fun action/resource management/tower defense game! I haven't bought it here (yet), because I originally played it on my Xbox Series X, but a low to mid tier PC should play this title pretty well. The Deluxe version comes with all of the DLC and three different soundtracks. (Read the actual description...the comparison to the base game is missing the DLC, but it's in there!) You travel to multiple different worlds, with very different biomes, collecting powerups and resources, all while setting up bases, that you have to defend from swarms of enemies. You'll also have to repair/replace barriers and weapons that get damaged from the weather, which can vary quite a bit, depending on the biome. And if I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure all of the maps are procedurally generated, so the replayability is quite high. I've played through the entire campaign once, and plan on taking another shot at it very soon. I can't wait to see what EXOR comes up with next!
