Story was good enough to keep me playing, yet broke down into relatively tidy chapters. Essentially a walking simulator/visual novel. I personally would have preferred more straight forward environments to make it easier to get to the story.
This is not a typical style of game that I enjoy. The story and graphics were pretty decent. I've seen it compared to Disco Elysium in places, and it definitely isn't similar or on the same level. I clocked in about 12 hours and there might be a little replay value after learning the plot. I'm ok with the asking price, but I could definitely recommend it at a lower/discounted price.
As of 09/05/21 At this point, the game is pretty basic. Decent foundation, but little depth. Currently has about 15 hours of gameplay. Quests are quite simplistic and don't appear to have a greater effect on the world. The load times start out...tolerable and become insufferable. I don't have a terribly new computer but a solid SSD and CPU.
The art, atmosphere and story are very compelling. Unfortunately it is shoved into a game that could be considered early access. From the monsters that have Russian names (which aren't names at all but actually the action you are to perform) to the strange dance you have to do to interact with objects, you'll constantly question whether the story is really worth it. It is terribly infuriated to have an interesting game world to explore...but not be able to look up!
+From the music to the visuals it is a complete nostalgic future trip. +Great for short sessions. +Lots of perk+weapon combos to be discovered. -The visuals can be a bit much, luckily you can tone them down. -The game is meant to be played over and over. The boss introductions need to be skippable or reduced the more playtime logged.
