After a rocky launch of the base SF3 game, FG concludes this epic saga with the best entry to date. FG tells a fantastic story with refinded RTS and RPG mechanics that really goes to show how far this franchise has come. Can't wait to see the Reforged Client and replay the entire saga with FG's mechanics.
I thought base SF3 was already a gem in its own right, after the massive patching that had been done. Soul Harvest only improves on it further. Better UI, tighter story, 2 new factions, the 3 factions from the base game were all revamped and much improved design-wise. the revamp of the heroes class trees also makes for more interesting hero building. graphics and sound are as good as ever, SH even looks a tiny bit better with the really pretty autumn theme it has. I can only recommend this, I'm really loving it and I can't believe we got something like this in 2020. Feels like from the early 2000s with modern production values.
This has to be the biggest disappointment from the past few years. Obsidian clearly couldn't be assed to put any effort beyond the absolute minimum into this game. Everything that wasn't already made for PoE1 is at the very best passable in PoE2. >Story >Interactivity >C&C That's what makes a good RPG. This flop has none of them. I should have learnt my lesson after PoE1, but here I am. I definitely won't fall for their figstarter campaign a third time.
