I've played about 1/3 of it and I still felt safe to leave a review simply from how well made this is. I simply do not doubt that the rest of the game will be any less made with care. The main character is cozy and rellateable enough, the dialogues make sense, and there is a sence of detail I absolutley adore! Puzzles been good so far, music is a great match. Only thing is that sometimes I find the gameplay a little bit slow. I'd love for an alternative to fast travel through places with double click when revisiting locations and 1-2 times I felt that there was a gap in story or slow pace that just made me feel a little unmotivated or lost. But appart from that I think this is a little jewel of a point and click game. Also, points for giving identity to the small things. I like how this game feels like sort of a combo between classical point and click adventure games like Monkey Island or Kings quest, and the sort of childrens adventure games I played as a kid.
I love it. In the first 10 minutes or so, I chuckled becauce all I needed to do was to think like the smaller sibling (which I also am) and it all made perfect sense :D I have played about halfway and only one puzzle was hard to understand this far. I love how there is no need to break the 4th wall by looking into any puzzle solution. I feel like I am a kid playing something from the good old days. Nice to put my mind entierly into the experience and solving puzzles without being distracted by anything big and complex in terms of story. Just what I needed tonight.
I was positively surprised! This game (how ever well executed) not an artstyle that is attractive to me at all so I have been ignoring it. But watching 15 seconds of a gameplay video online, I found myself interested and bought it. I have played for a few hours now tonight (I think I'm almost done :'( ) And I found meself really enjoying it! I like how it is small and tight rather than reaching for everything. Most puzzles have been on a level where you figure them out and makes sense (in a point and click kind of way) and the humor is growing on me. I also like the added details of short cutscenes and costom animations here and there. I'd say it is one of the better modern point and clicks I've played in a while. And it has enough amount of Lucas arts vibes to make me nostalgic. 4/5
Hey! What a nice surprise! Big Kings Quest and Gabriel Knight fan, but never heard of this until this week. WARNING: The first part in this game is sloooooow. It would have worked wonders if you could walk faster. But I'm glad I stuck to it becauce things took of. What lifted this game to a 4: - Beautiful and detailed graphics and enjoyable environments (for the most part) - The humor and details in dialogue and character stories - The amount of characters and detailed relationships - Fun and intersting items and puzzles. - Good murder mistery á la Poirot What makes me give it a (weak) 4 stars: - Some very arbitrary puzzles - A bit buggy - Sloooow walk wich is really annoying since there is a lot of trial and error. - Not as good with placing "the next possible stepps" in the design. I think Kings Quest and Gabriel knight is sharper on that point. Overall happy about it, would reccomend and might even play again at some point even though I know the end. P.S I did have to use a walk through here and there, not everything is logical and many things were very out of focus in more than a nifty/ard way. Simply just bad design. Be prepared to click on everything you don't need and miss some specks of dust hidden in dark corners you should have seen!
I mean, most of the graphics and animations are lovely! I like the main character and the game overall is SO much better than the first which (to me) had pretty much a horrible game design. There are still quite a few long shots in the puzzle design here and there and some things are seriousley arbitrairy and could have been avoided with simple means. But it is whimsical in a way I appreciate, humor is ok, the story could be a bit more clear and leaves a bit to wish for but, entertaining for sure. Gave me 1 night of thinking and fun. So for a point and click I had never heard of I was happy to find it.
The graphics are clean, soft and very nice to the eye. Music calm and pleasing. I gave 4/5 becauce I would love even more variations of maps since I managed to get a few very similar ones time and time again. Other than that I can only long for a DLC or two and hope that it gets the appreciation it deserves. I'd reccommend this to anyone who likes games like Age of empires II but don't want to do warfare and speed up the direct reward of resorces :)
