I played this game in the mid 2000's. I never remember finishing the game back then. I did so this year. The good: - Good idea; - Graphics are nice; - Lots of explosions; - Long campaign with various objectives; - Units (soldiers) are actually useful and you need to use them according to their specialities; - Some silly humour, sometimes too safe, sometimes adult jokes. The bad: - Pathfinding SUCKS!!! It is the worst pathfinding I ever saw in any game I played. The pathfinding is so broken it ruined my enjoyment and it will ruin yours. Units will constantly collide with each other and will just prevent each other from moving. They will form long lines despite the fact that other games of the era could do formations. The hitboxes are too large for the units. Two soldiers cannot pass one another if too close and by close I mean quite a distance. - Many achievements are locked behind timed goals, over half of them are just timed and timed and timed. It is such a disgusting requirement that you will get tired. Why would you care about the achievements? Because they unlock extra missions. - The unit noises are repetitive. - Besides the medics and the helicopters, all other mechanized units are trash and a waste of resources, don't even bother. The halftrack and tanks are garbage and should be avoided since they are not that easily repairable and take a long time. Did I mention the timed goals? You're better off making 10 bazooka soldiers than 2 tanks. They will also be able to shoot down aircraft. Make 2-3 snipers, 20 bazooka soldiers, 3 mortars and you are set to win most games. Of course don't forget the medics and you will need about 3 of them. This is for the fans of older games. Don't buy this if you don't like difficult games. This ain't an easy game to play.
