Pretty good game

I first played this the first time when I was a teenager. I did enjoy playing the game again after all this time. The combat is not tedious, the enemies rarely respawn and only in some areas, the game is not too difficult. The story is okay, the design is pleasant to look at and the sounds are good. I used a walkthrough to complete the game and I managed to finish the game in about 12 hours. Get it on discount, it is a game of the 90's. I think it is a fine game, no bugs to disrupt the gameplay.

LEGO® Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game

Crashy, but still fun

This game loves to crash. A lot. But it is fun and has the good music, so I forgive it. It'd say this is second best after LOTR, but some HP fans may disagree. I dunnoh, you do you, I think this one is pretty good.

Traffic Giant

Good, but some flaws

I like this game. I also don't like this game. Allow me to explain. What I like: - the game concept; - the ease of play; - the route design; - the diverse maps; - the vehicles. What I don't like: - the terrible scroll that shoots you off to any edge so I use the arrow keys to navigate; - the repetitive sounds; - the fact that the videos break you game if you want to skip them unless you ALT TAB. I say this is better than Cities In Motion, a game I tried so hard to like, but was unable to win because it is so unforgiving it's not even funny. This one can actually be played.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell®

My God, Fisher, have you gone insane?

This is the first of the series. It starts off a bit shy and clumsy, compared to Pandorra Tomorrow and Chaos Theory (which was the peak of the series). It has a nice story, but sometimes the combat is a bit weird. The dialogue and humor are top. Definitely reccomend to play the series and start with this one.

Sid Meier’s Railroads!

Fun game

I get that it is not as complex as Railroad Tycoon. However, it is a small game with simplified mechanics and low stress. It's not the greatest economic model, but it is nicely rendered, has good sountrack, plays fast, you can pickup a level and play for an hour without the planning required by other games like RRT. Regarding the crashing, there is a patch available online which fixes this issue.

Sid Meier's Civilization IV®: The Complete Edition

Best of the entire series

This game is old, but it was made in an era before microtransactions and politics injected in games. This game does not have any of the modern issues. You can get mods for it if you want. Extra maps are also available. You will play this and forget to eat, drink or sleep. You can turn the global warming in the settings XML file because you do not need to ruin your game with modern day hoax. The music is probably the best. Pro tip, set your start menu to the original Civ IV because there is no better song than BABA YETU.

Mafia Classic

Old game with the difficulty set to max

This isn't a modern game. It has a poor combat system, the health does not regenerate like in COD games. The graphics are old and dated. You have to also manually add the music back (see the forums). But what it does have is a good story, good driving, good memorable (even if repetitive) music. Yes, you can get the definitive edition, which is probably better overall, but then again, I do like this more because of the story. I think Tommy is better written in this than in the newer version. I played both versions and this one is more memorable. This one is the harder game to play, less fancy, with less swearing. Not that I mind the swearing, it is a game for adults, but somehow I appreciated the fact that it's not an F BOMB factory. This game is delicate, like a lady, it needs a lot of effort to fully enjoy. It is something they talked about like they talk about GTA. It is a piece of history. I like it, but I do not recommend it to people who do not like hard games. YOU WILL REPLAY SOME LEVELS OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you learn the tricks. I give it 4 stars overall, while the newer version gets a 4.5.

Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

A true TBS classic, which I still play

This game is a gem from my childhood. I may be biased since I used to play this as a kid, when my dad was still alive. I get fond memories when I play it, especially the Tatalian Wars. I still remember those summer days, in my bedroom, with him around the house watching tv in the other room, checking on me and telling me to go outside and play instead. The game still plays nice and the graphics are just perfect the way they are. The HD packs and all that modern stuff seem to make it less like the game I remember and more like something else. Therefore, I just play it with the standard looks. I finished playing through the campaigns last year and had a fun time. Such a beautiful game. I never play the multiplayer since I'm not a pro player. But, the campaigns are great, the single maps are also plenty to kee you busy for a very very long time. The only things I found annoying are: - the Armageddon Blade campaign is not editable and you have to manually edit the campaign with a special editor to enable difficulty levels; - some text is written wth some mistakes but that is not game breaking. This game is a gem. I heard people call it "dynamic chess". It is. No individual game is the same. It has so many variations that make not boring. The art style is so pretty. The music is so very good. The ambiance and effects are very well done. While it is not a modern game, it is a beautiful old masterpiece. And a game I will always hold dear.

Freespace 2

Better than the first one

This is better than the first game. The first one is a true classic, but this is better. It continues the story and does so with good writing. The graphics are improved, even the stock graphics still look modern. No economy, no grinding, no trade. Just a good old space shooter. The fact that it is still being modded today and has all the modern updates really speaks about how much this game is liked. This is one of those games that stick with you after you're done playing.

Descent: Freespace Battle Pack

Classic space shooter

They don't make them like this anymore. This is just a space shooter. No economy, no grind, nothing. Start the game, fly, shoot. The campaign is nice, the lore is also nice. The music is okay. The voice acting is good. The graphics are a bit dated, but still work quite well. This was a great game at the time and still holds up.
