I love the theme and style of the game, but actually playing it is a chore. Dont be misled by all the 5 star reviews. The god damn combat is sooooooooooooo bad that i just couldnt get through it. Theres stuff to like here, but the gameplay is a joke. Trust me, it aged really REALLY badly.
I am not an adventure game veteran, i played a few of them when i was younger, but most of them bored me really fast and i always thought that it just wasn't my type of game. I probably still would have been thinking the same thing if it wasn't for Primordia. I changed my mind about the genre thanks to this gem. The atmosphere and the world of Primordia is very engaging if you have at least a ltittle bit of love for sci-fi. The characters, music, voice acting and story are all top-notch. I really like the art style, but it is a little bit too pixelated for my taste, there were a few times when i didn't notice something important because it all gets blurry. The difficulty was ok, i think that the idea to implement a clue system built into your companion Crispin was a smart move. Thanks to that, even though English is not my first language i didn't need to look up solutions on the internet and it felt like i just cooperated with my litle robot friend (i admit, the poem puzzle took me some time). The ending(s) was satisfying and fit the story well. Besides minor graphical flaws i can't seem to think of anything that i did not like about Primordia. If you enjoy cyberpunk and sci-fi themes you won't regret buying this game, especially with its current price. And even if, like me, you are not into adventure games i think you will be up for a pleasant surprise.
