If you have never played the original, prepare yourself. The game is less intuitive than the much more popular sequels but more than that it's LONELIER. This is dark fantasy and catacomb spelunking at its very best and the difficulty fits the bill. If you're not that used to older games, you may want to play Diablo 2 before this one just to get more into the series. If you've only played Diablo 3? You will probably get a culture shock. Plot matters much much less and is given to you much more sparingly. Also: No hirelings.
