Daikatana

One of the worst fps game ever made

Uninstalled after one hour of trash gameplay. Seriously, the gameplay is trash, the ai is trash, the storytelling is trash, and the level design is trash. Everything about this game is bad. I mean, really bad. The game starts telling a boring story for the next twenty minutes. It's like Half-Life's train intro but worse. Then, you must fight against small enemies with your useless weapon. Oh, and also the level design is incredibly bad. Look, this is a fast-paced shooter game, right? Why the levels are so tight. You can't even move properly. I hate this game, I hate it with every ounce of my being. I don't want to talk about this mess. Just buy it if you want to see how John Romero screwed up. Have fun if you can.

Unreal Gold

Compared to other games, it's boring

First of all, I won't compare this game to new ones. I will compare Unreal with its peers, like Half-Life. As you know, Half-Life and Unreal both published in 1998. They are not the same game but they have similarities. Graphically, Unreal was ahead of its time; shiny floors, high-quality textures, lighting... I was really impressed when I replayed it this year. But the gameplay is really, really boring. It is boring because you have to play the first parts of the game with two or three weapons. And the variety of enemies are increasing very slowly. You will fight with the same enemies over and over again. For example, you will be facing only three enemies until the first boss battle. Brutes, Skaarj Warriors, and Mantas are the only enemies that you will encounter. In general, there are twenty-two enemies but most of them are different versions of the same enemy, like Skaarj Scout and Skaarj Warrior. The only difference they have is color and health. This is why the enemies are boring. I felt like I'm fighting with the same guy with different clothes. I think Half-Life did well about enemy variations because it has lots of monsters with different appearances and abilities. Now I want to talk about weapons in Unreal. There are ten weapons and all of them have different effects on enemies. The problem is, finding weapons is taking too long. You play seven or eight levels then encounter a new weapon. I think the developers were trying to extend the playtime, but it didn't end up well. Half-Life has fourteen weapons and you will use them more early compared to Unreal. Level design in Unreal is pretty same as Half-Life. It has linear gameplay but still, you can choose different paths. Actually, there aren't lots of things to talk about level design in Unreal, it's pretty standard.

SWAT 4: Gold Edition

My favorite tactical shooter of all time

I met this game at an Internet café first, then I became an addict. I spend a lot of time in custom mission maker. My dad helped me to change stuff like the morale of suspects and equipment of swat members. It was fun until the game disappeared from online stores. I checked the internet for info when learned that SWAT 4 was no longer available on the internet. Then years passed I grew up and someday I saw SWAT 4 here. I bought it instantly. It's the best tactical shooter ever made and it is also very detailed. Every action has consequences. You have to decide how to approach to suspects and civillians. Using unnecessary lethal force will lose your points. So, your first goal must be to bring order to chaos, not just shooting bad people with guns. Some suspects have higher morale and that's a bad thing, they will not listen to you. You must use non-lethal stuff like pepper spray or a taser. Like I said, the game has lots of small details that will change the gameplay. Also, every level has a different atmosphere and plot, sometimes you have to face inexperienced robbers with small weapons but sometimes you will face a highly trained terrorist group. It's a good tactical shooter where you must act carefully.
