Lost Ruins

When exploring is tough but rewarding

This game is not the average metroidvania, yes you have a classic open world but it's more towards linear when it comes to progress, which is good for this game (you would not like to get lost here) but here you have to pay attention to each attack pattern on the enemies since your items have long recovery time, you cannot spam your attacks, everything has to be calculated and see what works for certain enemies, here management of potions, magic and other resources are key to advance. interaction: There are certain gimmicks in this game within the world, made to complicate or ease your progress, and that is a lot of interaction with the environment, things that usually kill you don't instantly do, but makes you drain you HP, so you have time to use HP potions, some of this interactions can be beneficial to you though, starting a fire on the floor is very common so you have to know where to use it and avoid getting burnt yourself. Boss Fights: The bosses are as tough as the world itself, they are mostly cute monster girls but they can catch you off guard with their patterns and different moves, the AI from the attacks is not very complex, once you find a way to deal damage, you'll end up killing them fast, they aren't really smart, the good thing is that they usually have second phases to make them more interesting, each boss is set in a different situation, places with platforms, places with water that make you slow, places with more enemies around, you have to keep in mind everything in order to beat them. Music: This is where the game is not that great, the ambient sounds and effects are fine, I think this game tries more focus into inmersion sounds than music, which is ok, there are some instrumental pieces that help construct the mood of the enviroment, and it does just fine but definitely you are not going to listen any kind of catchy music or memorable melody at all, (maybe except for one single music made for certain part of the game but it's very especific section), in this regard, if you like the music in Hollow Knight, you'll like this game's music too Final notes: the difficulty and scope of the game can make some players get frustrated, this game is more about patience, learning, and manage your resources, if you like games that require more coordination and patience, you'll find a really fun game with lots of weapons, magic and other item customization and a combination between cutesy sexy characters, and fanservice with some horror elements (a little odd but works). I didn't mention anything about the story because it's not the most important thing in a game like this, but there is some lore to read during the world's notes, and I think the way it tells the story is nice, the game is totally worth it at a half price ir lower. Very recommended.
