Solasta: Crown of the Magister

Fun and balanced

I've played little over 25h and I'm having a blast. In many ways Solasta provides the same "just one more round" -feeling that XCOM provides. I think the nearest comparison with Solasta is Temple of Elemental Evil. If you like ToEE, I highly recommend checking Solasta. But it's hard not to compare this with BG3 also. In that comparison BG3 wins in the graphic department but Solasta is equal or leads in others. Ok, story depends on your personal preferences but in the terms of "Which game is more fun to play", Solasta is a clear winner. Biggest difference is that Solasta's game mechanics are well balanced where BG3 felt more like a high quality mod to Divinity 2 where the game mechanics are in constant battle with the DnD5 rules. I also prefer the sense of scope in Solasta when compared to BG3. BG3 provides this strange theme park -style map where everything is placed next to each other. In Solasta each location is much larger and you actually have to travel to get from place to place. Highly recommended.
