It is hard to explain, feelig of dred and exiliration at the same time. Choices that fees real. Decent replayability. The only chick in the armor is that after few playthroughs, you do start seeing it is a game, i.e. game mechanics in it. But it is solid 9.5 from me.
I cannot wait for the full version of Manor Lords. It scratches every town building itch I have.
I am usually not attracted to reading heavy games. But this gem of a game, showing only a map and dialog, has me hooked. I am writing this review at 3:30 in the morning... and I am working in the morning. Need I say more?
I was looking for something like Total War, but for the Napoleonic or Civil War era, and here I have found it. The game does not have "grand strategy" layer, rather it is only a sequence of battles. However, the battles are great, and your army suffers or grows with your triumphs and mistakes. Highly recommended.
While I keep getting killed by annoying missile launched torpedoes... I keep coming back. It is like a slow puzzle game, where you have to position your pieces just right. Very addictive.
