Cyberpunk 2077

No-One can recommend this game

I think this game can rightfully be scored 1 through 5 out of 5. If you're like me, have a top end GPU (RTX 3080) or play at 1080p with a Mid-Range GPU, intend to use a controller, don't require locked 60 at all times, then the game is mostly very enjoyable. The world seems crazy, the story is really good (although it doens't allow as much freedom as we were promised, this means the marketing was bad not the campaign. If you were mis-sold the importance of choice then of course this game is 1/2 stars because it simply doesn't deliver.), the gunplay is OKAY, not great, not terrible and the graphics (if your game runs) are amazing although feel unoptimized. There are a lot of bugs (I've had nothing game breaking, just inconvenient mostly). But I think bugs can be overlooked if everything else was top tier but it just isn't quite. Everything in this game feels like 4/5. The story is good but there's no freedom. The guns/combat should be good with cover mechanics and cool weapons but something makes it feel off (maybe enemies do too much damage and I deal too little?). There seems to be a lot of choice of clothes to make you feel how you want but it affects stats so you have to dress with your best gear. There are tonnes of upgrade options but they don't give you anything new, just modify what you have from the start (stat bonuses instead of new skills so you never feel more powerful, you're always trying to keep up with the enemies getting tougher so combat never changes from start to finish). So if I had to sum up, and I could talk about this game for hours so I'll try my best, this game has so much going on, its a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. But we were promised a master of all and that's where the disappointment and upset comes in. People were overhyped for something which simply could never deliver. There's just something missing from every aspect of this game so it feels 'good' everywhere but rarely great anywhere.
