The remake of this classic takes the crown (previously held by Alien: Isolation) as the best horror game I've ever played! Constant dread, all the locations are iconic both for the game and from an horror fan perspective, James' research is damned from the first step into the borders of the town, you would like to avert your gaze from what happens to him but you just cannot. It's a 10/10 for me, the story has no pacing issues whatsoever which is a critique I usually highlight in other titles; the only critiques the combat which is basic, but still common to the majority of the recent survival horror games so I'd say acceptable (REs, Alan Wakes etc...), and one backstory which I find weak. Recommended if you have a bunch of diapers at your disposal
