I always have been a big fan of the Dungeon Keeper series. For any others out there of like mind I recommend looking into the games 'War For The Underworld' and their expansion packs because all though they are not connected to the Bullfrog company original title they may as well be for their similar gameplay and storylines not to mention voiceovers and osts far out stuff totally.
The first thing I will say I love all the MK games no matter how old they are. But in this gog version the controls are off. They wont even let me change them. Whenenever I try to readjust anything it keeps putting it back the way it was. Also whenever I use either single or multiplayer it messes up the controls additionally. So in other words when you want player one or two you get the wront keys for either. You could be playing by yourself against a bot and still you are given the wrong controls to use so ultimately how are you supposed to play. Faulty menu that doesnt respond properly when prompted so what can I say no marks.
First of all for anybody who doesnt know there are actually a few different Starship Troopers games for pc and have been for some years now and although this is the only one on either steam or gog nonetheless. Theres are really good retro shooter as well as a tactical strategy game which I used to play on the win 98 years ago but that one can be a bit frustrating some times. leaving titles aside this one in particular though has imporved in the line of that quite a bit and needless to say the graphics are way better. The ost of Terran Command is absolutely epic and completely does it justice so much that it belongs in a movie.
I would give this review full marks. But there is a reason I wont. What that is, too much lagging for a retro game that has been updated for a modern computer. I will not deny that when I played this with my mates way back when day it came out I wasnt the only one who found it that way at the time but this is not the 90s any more and such a title should be able to run like a dream on an os of today but at the same time what can I say other than at least so far it works lets just hope it stays that way.
Both the sound and the vehicle handling is so off. Accurately speaking disappointing experience for any fan of the series which I am. I so used to love this game. Way back in the day I played the heck out of it. Never got tired of it. I never expected that gog's version of all would have glitches. But at least now I know. My advice if you love this genre is get the cd versions. But. When it comes to digital downloads of retro games on modern machines unfortunately for everybody sometimes it can be a bit of a hit and miss sometimes.

The first thing I will say about this game is that when I started playing it there was a bug that stopped production in the units of my city building. It wouldnt allow trade in my city. When I built any cities there was no commerce allowed where there should have been. As well as that I prefer older titles because at the same time as they never had such issues they just looked and felt better. I do love strategy games that are about chinese history but in all honesty this one just doesnt seem to do that justice. Its a retro title so obviously the graphics are kind of cheesy. But then again so were the even older Caesar games and they were like so much more enjoyable. Having said. Hence the low marks. Nobody likes glitches. If you are going to release a game at least make it playable. Obviously word not just from me.
