I am not at all a fan of top-down games, turn based games or classic crpgs, but this game sucked me in instantly. Its world is beautiful and richly detailed, both visually and in terms of hidden details, and the game requires you to really pay attention to it in order to progress. The immersion is facilitated by fully voiced characters all of which have distinct personalities, and whose dialogues is full of humor (this is somehow also one of the funniest game I have ever played). The combat? It puts all rpgs I have played to shame. It puts most games to shame actually, it is deep and varied, encouraging you to experiment, be clever, and sometimes do things that feel like cheating, consider the terrain, the position of each character of your party according to their abilities and weapons... But it all feels natural because of how logical it is. I am hype to play this all over again. Only downside is that it's one of those rare games which kill other games of the genre for you by being just so utterly superior in every single way. Very hard to get into Pillars of Eternity after this game lol
