Disclaimer: this review is being written in May of 2024, while the game is still in early access. Some parts might change before it finishes. ' This is a deceptively simple first-person adventure game set in an original science fantasy universe. You start the game as Nod, a seemingly normal adventure game hero ("jerk with a heart of gold") who is trying to get to work after sleeping in too long and who has to navigate a series of increasingly obtuse roadblocks. If the execution was that simple, I wouldn't be writing about it at length. Let's just say things get more complicatd with that premise as Nod gets closer to his goal of escaping the building and farther from the thing he needs most in his life - closure after his girlfriend left him for another man. This is a game meant to be savored and replayed. Nod's story is an introduction to the world, but it only offers one perspective. Completing different routes and conditions opens other routes. Other characters (who's stories are still in production at the time of this writing) offer new persective on the world and on each other. I have my suspicions as to what's really going on, but I'll wait until the game is finished. I don't know exactly what it's all building to, but I'm waiting eagerly for the next chapter! If you're in the mood for a point and click, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Just be patient with the team
