If you're into turn-based RPGs like the classics, this game is for you. It has a compelling story, amazing music, and solid visuals for the genre. Originally a Dreamcast exclusive, it saw ports to the PS2, the PC, and now this PC Anniversary remake. This is a port of the original Dreamcast version, whereas the PS2 version was of poor quality, and the original PC port was a reduced quality port of the PS2 version. So the base for this game is solid. However, there are many bugs causing crashes, or spells that simply have no affect when they should. Additionally, the game doesn't feature proper gamepad support. Whereas most developers use DirectInput and/or XInput, this game attempts to just detect an Xbox 360 gamepad and work from there. It's not proper XInput, which causes compatibility issues for those who have other XInput gamepads, such as those made by Logitech, Thrustmaster, or those trying to use Gamestream. This is a 5-star game, but I'm deducting 1 star for the poor controller support, and 1 star for the game's various bugs, glitches, and crashes.
