Its clear this game needs more time to develop. There are bugs aplenty to be found just about everywhere. Most of the elements of the game need more polish, perhaps they ran out of cash I don't know. I love the premise and I think they have a solid idea for the game. It just needs another 6-12 months of development.
I am a long time adventure fan and one of my favorite series is Sam and Max. These new adventures are great but not up to the old standard, but considering how adventure games are now its ok. I gave the first season 4 stars, I felt it was fun and enjoyable. However I hated this season and wasnt able to complete it. Bottom line is they re-used way too much of the first season material and characters and the overall theme was not to my liking. I had some laughs in some places and had moments when I thought I could finish but in the end it just wasnt that good. Possibly I am the only one like this but to me it could have been a lot better
Bottom line with season 1 is that the jokes are fresh, the content is excellent and its worth the price of admission. When Sam and Max are at their best it can be slap happy fun. But as others have said the locations and characters get reused a lot in this series and after awhile it wears on the fun. Another ding against this series is that it has no replayability. Season 1 however is probably the only season of the 3 I would recommend. Buy and enjoy
The first PG game when it was released was kind of a surprise to gamers. No real advertising or marketing it took off based on game play and word of mouth. It made a huge impression on war gamers and on a young gamer who had never really enjoyed a war game before. However its hard to repeat greatness and its nearly impossible to make folks even happier with a sequel. Yet this is exactly what SSI did. The game is fuller, better looking and much more enjoyable than the original. When you boil it down this is as good as the PG series got. Other games in the series didnt try to make the game play better they just tried to make the graphics or interface better. If you only play one PG game it has to be this one
