that's all

It's fun for a while, then the stat blot become intollerable. Enemies will all sort of regenerations, immunities, inflated AC. It's not difficult, just tedious. On top of that, bugs are everywhere even after so much time after release. Today a new one in the Crusade Mode: defeat an army leaving only the summoned enemies and for some reason the mouse disapppears forcing a computer restart.... nice.

I was skeptical about the ability of Larian to deliver a good game. Oh boy I was wrong. This is not just a good game, is probably the best fantasy turn-based RPG game ever made. I played over 400 hrs, and I still want more. Luckily for us Larian is busy at work on their next couple of RPGs with the same engine. Hey Larian, hear me out, please don't screw up your new games. You have a wining formula in your end, a wonderful engine, a great setting, please make your next games even more interactive, compelling, and just damn addictive. And turn-based, of course, I can't stand RT (and even RTwP) games. Thank you.

Eador is one of the best fantasy Turn-Based Strategy games available in the market. I have been playing TBS games since the mid ‘90s, so I have basically played them all. I must say that I was very surprised to see how good this game is. Let me explain why: imagine a game with the depth of Civilization and with the tactical battles of Heroes of Might and Magic. I ‘lost’ countless hours since I first discovered Eador earlier this year, and I am still a ‘beginner’. This is how deep the game is. You can win (or lose) in so many different ways. The spell system is one of the most rewarding I have ever seen, and the units composing your army give you so many possibilities for battle. The graphic of this game is just lovely. Clearly some people will not like the ‘old-school’ vibe, but if you pay attention to the details you will notice how beautiful the game is. You might also hear complains about the difficulty of this game. Granted, the game is not easy even at the lower levels, but it is just a question to learning about the games and rules. A very helpful community in several forums will also be more than willing to give you tips. In short, if you like fantasy TBS games, you must try Eador, at this price is a ‘must’. Now, guess which Eador am I talking about? If you guessed Genesis, you were wrong. Because they are both wonderful games. It cannot be any simpler than that.
