The puzzles in this game completely ruin what otherwise would have been a pretty interesting and original action RPG. The last thing I want to do when I'm hacking and slashing through hordes of monsters is for the next bit of content to be locked away behind a puzzle that takes me minutes or hours to solve. Avoid at all costs, unless you're a huge puzzle fan.
The turn-based tactical combat in this game is reminiscent of X-COM, and I have a feeling I'd enjoy this game quite a lot if it weren't for it's extreme difficulty. Somehow it's become fashionable to make games extremely difficult, which might be great for some players. But others like myself can't even enjoy the game because they can't make it past the first mission. It's extremely frustrating, and I wish there was a way to scale down the difficulty to my liking. I'm still going to rate it highly because of all the tactical options the game offers, though.
A really fun little demo, that (to save some frustration) should have told you from the start that it's unfair and you're supposed to die. If you're ok with dying and learning from your mistakes you might find a fun little game in which you dig through a 2D map to get resources, build your base and defenses, craft items and weapons, and defend your base from waves of insect enemies. I had fun exploring, figuring out the game mechanics (the tutorial leaves a lot to be desired, so you'll have to figure out a lot on your own), and figuring out how to best defend myself and my base (even if I was destined to die in the tutorial). I'm looking forward to full game release, and now have it on my wishlist.
This looks like a puzzle platformer, in the vein of Inside. I wasn't able to get very far in the demo, so this is not a review of the full game, but it seems to be too hard for me, as I wasn't able to figure out what to do, so I can't really give this a fair review... but, since there was so little of the game available to me and since it was so hard for me I can't rate it highly either. Anyway, downloading the offline installer instead of using GOG Galaxy worked for me to at least install and play the game.
