Drova is an almost perfect action RPG. It has a few drawbacks, but still other developers should learn from it. It's immersive and it doesn't treat the player like a fool. You can soak in for hours. Drovas world lives its own life and you can simply enjoy by observing it. It challenges players and gives them the opportunity to feel as a part of the world presented. There are no quest markers in the game, and they are not needed, because the dialogues are conducted in such a way that an attentive player knows what to do. Combat remains a challenge until the very end. It took me about 45 h to get through the whole thing. Its main drawback is a rather weak story, especially the silly ending. Also unrealistic is the fact that there is little conversation about how people found themselves in Drova. Even so, I still considers Drova as the best action RPG game in a long time. For me it was the best game in 2024. Indeed, it shows inspiration from the Gothic series. I think Drova can be called the only Gothic-like title available on the market (aside from PB games such as Risen 1 and Elex). It's a shame that this game is so poorly publicized.
