Heck, the Total War version is just ... not it. This, Mark of Chaos is the original one, the one I fell in love with as a teen back then, because you can see how much more caring, attention and enthusiasm has been put into *this* game. Considering its age, it still holds up pretty well. Is somehow way more atmospheric with its bleak, misty-foggy battlefields, excellent voice actors, and yes, kind of a shady impression on the world map as well as on the battlegrounds. Ok, Im very much ambience-dazzled, but thats the point, getting lost in it, right? The menu also serves this goal well. The other, newer franchise is much more flashy, overly colorful, kiddo-vibe, but Mark of Chaos grips the whole tone of the Warhammer Old World just as it should. Endless congratulations from my part, thank you, devs, for the hours I could spend on this one:)
