It seems GOG might have fixed the crash bug with this game, I have been playing this with the Kobayashi Maru mod for many years with the standard retail 1.1 version and always had crashes, but today since I bought GOGs version and installed the same mod so far I haven't had a single crash even with 40 ships vs 1 borg cube with the large frame drops. So currently I have to say this is the best version of Bridge Commander you could buy anywhere. Amazing work GOG.
