The game in itself is excellent and a worthy RPG, it did take a year to get it to a playable state, which is kinda sad but the end result is really fantastic and captures the whole 40k vibe and is a real turn based RPG.

Amazing concept and very promising. The snag is that its development is s l o w .... making a game takes time but if you buy this right now you are literally betting that someday it will be finished and there is still a very long way to go. This is by no means an early beta, it's more alpha version.

Very simple and short review: Steam has had 3 patches already, GOG ... none. Quest line is broken, the game is unplayable in its current state. If you buy this game, you are buying an beta version without proper support.

Yes the game is hard, yeas there are some imbalances and yes getting through fights is no small feat and requires you to drink potions more than a drunk. This is a game for hard core gamers missing the oldies like Eye of the Beholder. Those dungeons crawl are repetitive, yanking chains can become tedious after a while but for some reason the game still is fun even if it is gonna cost you a few hairs. I can understand why some people might not like this type of game, Legend of Grimrock is an anachronism and by today's standards it might come off as a sucky game for some. If you among those who miss the old AD& D games of the 90's, this game is for you and don't complain about the repetitive and hard gameplay, even that has been carbon copied from the 90's.
I might not get approval from many people but I find this game, to be among the most overrated games ever made. The background story is great, but the game itself feels like a job on a assembly chain in a manufacture ... the same thing 1000s of times over and over and over ...
