I-War 2 promises a nice story and immersive atmosphere. Unfortunately it is horribly broken by design. By this I mean absurd difficulty which prevents the game and story from actualizing. I am a veteran of Freespace and similar space sims but still found I-War 2 a tough nut to crack. After about 50 tries and several hours I've yet to complete the first mission to actually involve combat. Unfortunately it is the first mission after some training. Independence War 2 managed to lose all of its potential by unloading a shotgun to its own legs. It is a bitter pill to swallow as the story and depth seemed to promise so much. If only I could enable god mode I might be tempted to see the story through.
