Saw one review of the game being unplayable. Not sure what the reason would be. I have a computer less than a year old and the game is running perfectly. Better yet, it now detects Xbox 360 controllers so you can plug one into your PC and play it the same way you wanted on consoles. Greatly enjoying my re-visit.
Love the look and the feel this game gives you, only amplified by it's interesting story. HOWEVER, the diologe is so conviluded it's hard to figure out what's going on some times. And worst of all that killed the game for me. The slopy controlls. If I'm struggling to land platforms without ousdie issues, that's bad, but then the game has a VERY bad tendency to have enmies just constantly sneek up from under you, or have them tank up through your blows and just mash you. It's very fiddly platforming that never feels good, and the combat always feels like your not doing enough to harm the enemy, and that the game is on their side, making hard to fight them without taking a ton of damage in the process. It's not worth the frustration. I'll just watch TRON or some anime that like this instead.
My every experience with this game is a painful one. No matter how much material I read up on to make a decent build of a character in this game, it leads me no where. I can never get enough XP to level up properly, I can never get a build going that lets me feel like I'm doing much if any damage to any mid tear enemies, and every skirmish leaves me either crawling back to the same house to heal, or dead. Constantly left running every two minutes to heal as I don't want to spend up all my potions that are frequently hard enough to get out of any of the stores, and almost never enough gear to get my character up and running either. It's all a constant ball of frustrations that almost never pays off as fun and I'm done trying. Quitting forever on my 5th attempt when I should have already given up on the 3rd. I pray the other games are worth it, but I'm not bothering with the direct sequels either, I need to find out when QA testing came in.
Eveyrthing started nice, looked to be an interesting and slightly difficult game. Was going to stream it. But no matter how I try recording the damn thing crashes every time I try to save the game. Serioiusly need a mod to fix this damn thing. But more than that it shouldn't be in a game store if it has this many issues.
Was really enjoying this, and might have become a background time filler game. However the moment I was looking to be very likely to finish the game, last level, full to near full health, and a ton of mana in reserve. Suddenly a level up came up and when I went to click on my choice the game wouldn't take it. Selected both options, pushed every button in front of me, nothing would make it move. Killed my game on the last level. To hell with this buggy mess. I'll forgive weird item and door glitches, but the moment you bug the game to take a win away from me, it's over I'm through with this. I have better games to spend my time on, fix this garbage or get it off here and steam, and no, if it takes less than 10 years for you game to bug out this badly, then I'm not going to risk buying your next garbage sequel.
Where true fantasy RTS games took off is this baby here. Still capable of playing on line, now with better resolutions for modern PCs this game is a must buy for fantasy and Strategy enthusiasts.
It's been a bit over a year since I last played the original Warcraft. I hated that I had to run it off an old slow moving CD. Here the load times are much faster, and for the first time ever, after owning this for about a month, I got through the entire game without cheats. For a free time filler, while there are some annoying levels, when you finally got a sure foot hold in, your going to love bashing your way to the end. Go out there and enjoy yourselves, also.... FOR THE HORDE!!!
Payed $10 wanting my classic back. First time I load it, it asks for a CD, so I'm forced to back out. Had to restart GOG as the buttion remained grayed out as if I was still in the game. Trying to restart it several times latter, I can only get the launcher to start, tell it to play the game, and then nothing. And every time that play buttion is grayed out again! Why would you put this out without making sure the thing even worked!?
Hours into this game, and while the graphical bugs have finally been fixed for this game, there are still HUGE problems. Your allied AI can't walk in a straight line, much less fallow you into a group fight. And what finally killed my play through, is that boss fights can end on a boss character getting into an animation where they can't move, but also leaves them inmune to your gun fire. This finally broke my play through at about a quarter of the way into the game. And I'm not coming back, in fact I want my money back, and I'm not sure if I'll ever play 3 now.
At least this time I got the carpet to more or less go in the directions I wanted it to go in. However the mouse turns way to fast and makes everything a chore to aim at. I get the first spell and finally wrangle myself to sit still and aim at an anemy. Being told to kill archers after having just gotten a spell. I spam the second mouse buttion as I keep sending balls of light at the guys, and it does NOTHING. I stand there spaming the spell to no effect, and I die. Enough is enough. I don't know how any one even enjoyed these games, either they are so old that even Dos Box is bugged in trying to hit something inches from my face, or the fans are lying about how good these games are. Super dissapointed now.
