Desperados III Demo

Not Impressed

I liked the general game graphics and the style it presented. Using the Demo defaults, I started in. * I found the controls very clunky and far too many mouse clicks required to continue play. All the click to continue actions could be autonomous. They shouldn't need a query click or a distracting game pause to continue. * I used the custom mapping, as it is a demo, and found going to the side bar to spin the camera very monotonous. Several times I accidentally clicked the ground and started walking that direction when trying to see the tips, quests, camera roll * The NPC outlines for out of view characters is distracting. I could not find a way to reduce the visual intensity or remove it completely. * The save function is enough to end my playing this game. I could not find an auto save and the "Save Timer" window popping up every 1, 2, 5, 10 minutes is completely game breaking.

Surviving Mars

10+ hours of Game play

The game is not well defined on how to play. The help option shows exactly what you see in game, but in a larger font. No Help! It took my 3rd start to figure out even how to rotate an item. The overlay for the help feature is way to obtrusive. Now then, The game. It is a marathon game. It is slow paced. It has a different feel from other city build games as you are really limited on resources and the things you add to your domes affect your civilization attempts. I truly find it a delight to not have to fight my way through anything. Its a strategic builder. Managing everything and keeping it all going is more difficult then you would think. With custom landing locations, the game will be as easy or as difficult as you would like. The in game radio adds a lot to the game. The musical score is really well done. The announcer/DJ voices make is seem like you are listening to a live broadcast.
