The Journeyman Project 1: Pegasus Prime

The definitive Journeyman Project

This is not the original Journeyman Project. It is a remake of the first game in the series that was developed after the first sequel came out. As a result, from both a mechanical and stylistic standpoint, it actually has more in common with JMP2 than the original. This is not a bad thing, however. The original Journeyman was basically thrown together in Macromedia Director by a few guys in a garage. By the time Buried in Time came out Presto Studios had staffed up into a legitimate development studio. With Pegasus Prime, it shows. At it's heart, it's still the same Journeyman Project you grew up with in the early 90s, but it's bigger, better, and infinitely more polished. On top of that, this version of the game has had additional dev time put in before being released on GOG. Even if you played the tremendously obscure Mac OS 9 version in 1997, this will still feel a little different and a little better. The videos are higher resolution. The sound is higher quality, and there's more of it. Game sequences that were simple cutscenes in the original release are now interactive gameplay sequences. Being an adventure game from the early 90s, it shares traits with its brethren of Myst and The 7th Guest. You very rarely see other people in this game, and in fact one of your major objectives while time traveling is to avoid them. You must solve puzzles that involve putting pieces together from across the game's several different time periods.
