Night City and story (except one part) is amazing. Unfortunately, the sauce around it seems pretty much non-existent (Police - bare minimum puffing from a thin air, side activity, customization, taxi, trains, etc.) There are also some specific things that are totally missed and i don't understand how they missed them, these were things i immediately noticed in my first two hours of playing that did hit me like a truck: - driving a car using GPS and MINImap, so many turns missed - not able to see the distance of quests in the journal - key bindings is mess, C,X,F used for exit in different categories, dodge double tap, no buttons for actual inventory, the quick menu is slow and mouse control in it is horrible I can live with current bugs. It is understandable when 2 millions ppl are playing. On the other hand, missing basic gameplay mechanics that are necessary to play and every gamer will notice instantly is undeniable. Was there no one in team that said ,,Hey i am missing every turn while driving, please zoom out the minimap.´´ for last years in development? I am also getting a really weird vibe from the state of the game at release and it is not a good one. Something went definitely wrong there. Seems like Anthem, where they redesign things over and over. Menu - overdone like 3 times and it is still average. Character creation - overdone XY times and skin looks like reptilian greenish. Ricochet bullets - overdone and barely working. Kereznikov - no longer a drug as shown in the gameplay trailer but a cyberware with missing mod slots. Braindance is a missed opportunity. There isn't even a shooting range where you could try out weapons, there is but locked. Evasion is broken. It seems like they were overdoing things on every level and category instead of progressing. I understand that developing such a game is not an easy task but from a job perspective, it is CDPR job. The game just holds barely with the amazing design of Night City, art style and characters.
